It was a rainy day, and I was rushing to catch the train during peak hour. Someone shoved my backpack, and my wallet was gone.

My laptop got soaked and wouldn’t turn on. Frustrated I realized, if a backpack didn't protect my valuables from theft or rain, I'll build it myself.

I’d worn out many backpacks over the years, and they all had the same problems.

Zippers caught, valuables exposed to loss or theft, soaked in rain, strained my shoulders and digging for my keys was a hassle.

Worst of all, they always looked awkward and bulky.

I spent the next two and a half years turning frustration into innovation.
